Geelong Innovation Expo 2016

The fourth annual Geelong Innovation conference and Expo was held this year on the 15th of June at The Pier in Geelong. The annual Expo is a business conference event that brings local industry leaders, Deakin University, the CSIRO and more together to present new ideas and extend our local innovative culture. Presenters show you the latest from industry / Deakin partnerships highlighting collaboration and new technology. We are pleased to confirm that the Expo was officially opened by Victoria’s Minister for Small Business, Innovation and Trade, Hon Philip Dalidakis.

Presenters:

Lunchtime Keynote Speaker – Larry Lopez, Director of Accelerating Commercialisation an AusIndustry initiative to assist SMEs, entrepreneurs and researchers to commercialise novel products, processes and services.

Andrew Jones – G2 Innovation, once again Andrew will inspire us with practical steps towards a permanent innovative culture

Emily White and Sean Warren (Boomaroo Nurseries) working towards their goal of the most innovative commercial nursery in the world.

Chris Gilbey (Imagine IM) and Ross George (Austeng) – announced plans to produce graphene in Geelong at the Austeng facility. In production now!

Prof Maria Forsyth – Associate Director of the ARC Centre of Excellence for Electromaterials Science (ACES) where she leads the research effort in metal-air batteries and the development and understanding of new electrolyte systems.
