Australia’s clean energy opportunity and growing our sovereign manufacturing capability were among key themes of the GMC 2022 Technology and Innovation Summit in Geelong.
Presented by the Geelong Manufacturing Council, the all-day event included some of Australia’s leading minds on the global opportunities and challenges in manufacturing, and attracted over 100 industry leaders, investors and innovators to the GMHBA Stadium.
The comprehensive program included a focus on the biggest technology challenge of our lifetime – the clean energy transformation – and what it will take locally, nationally and globally to reach Net Zero. In a world emerging from a pandemic that has disrupted international supply chains, the Summit also underscored the importance of having strong, flexible and domestically-controlled manufacturing capability.
Geelong and regional manufacturing panellists included Marand CEO, Rohan Stocker, Carbon Revolution CEO, Jake Dingle, HeiQ Australia CEO, Murray Height, UMS CEO, Peter Meikle, Viva Energy’s Lachlan Pfeiffer, Quickstep CEO, Mark Burgess, FormFlow CEO Matt Dingle, Hanwha’s Richard Farkashazy, Flaim’s James Mullins, Li-S Energy CEO Lee Finniear, and Nick Jacometti of Boomaroo Nurseries.
