We’re pleased to announce an opportunity for leaders and decision makers from GMC members to participate in our BIG IDEAS project.
We know many businesses continue to face workforce and skills shortages, so it’s essential to consider how you can access the largest possible skills base.
BIG IDEAS is aimed at encouraging more women into manufacturing, highlighting that women continue to be an untapped resource in some male dominated areas of manufacturing.
Whether it’s attracting more women into trade apprenticeships, hiring or retaining them in management positions, workforce diversity yields clear benefits for business, including improved profitability.
We’ll be hosting a member workshop on 20 November to identify and start to address the challenges as well as highlighting the benefits of developing gender equity in your workplace.
Delivered by expert facilitators, the first workshop is designed to help you:
- Learn about the challenges and benefits of developing a more diverse workplace
- assess your current state
- identify barriers and opportunities within your business
- develop a preliminary action plan to help you successfully adopt these practices.
BIG IDEAS aims to equip decision makers with proven strategies for building diversity in their businesses and experiencing the benefits a more gender diverse workplace. Some of the potential benefits could include accessing a larger talent pool or gaining tools to help you implement policies that could help improve employee retention.
As part of the BIG IDEAS project, GMC will help deliver two workshops and a range of resources, such as best practice examples, case studies and boilerplate policies and procedures to assist members improve gender diversity.
